Is a stair crawler suitable for lifting a vending machine up a big flight of stairs?

We have a vending machine that we're trying to get up to the second story of a building. We can't use the lift. My Fiance's boss recommended hiring a stair crawler, which we can get for $99. I was just wondering if this is a good option. How many people would it need to operate it? Our vending machine is 300kg, so it's no small task.. Is it safe? Are we likely to drop it? I'm just freaking out a little and this is all new to me.
Forgot to mention - the website says it is capable of lifting 300kg. I'm still a bit sceptical, though. Plus, the size of the machine is going to make it difficult..
