What guarantees should I put in a contract when performing SEO services for a company?

Services will include reprogramming HTML of the site. Should we state in the contract that the site will appear in the first page of search results on Google, etc.?

2. Its not the best possible thing to guarantee positions - I would advise create a series of achievables like good coding, semantic design etc whatever you are out to achieve, and keep those in the contract.
